Our recent visit to iPhiTech, a leading IT company, was an enlightening experience for the group of students from Gordon College. The visit encompassed a tour of the company's satellite office, discussions with key figures in the organization, and an exploration of iFiTech, a technology company in the Dau HQ.

  1. Reflections on the webinar/activity give rise to (learnings):
The visit provided a unique opportunity to witness the inner workings of a prominent IT company. The engagement with Ms. Lear Dacanay, the HR Director, offered insights into the company's culture and values. Interacting with various departments and employees allowed us to understand the intricate hierarchy and the diverse roles contributing to the company's success.

The conversation with Mr. Benjamin Yalung, the Vice President of Operations, was particularly illuminating. His emphasis on innovation, adaptability, and a growth mindset left a lasting impression. Learning about the industry's current state and future prospects broadened our perspectives, and Mr. Mark Madalipay's insights on internships highlighted the importance of hands-on experience and networking in shaping a successful career in IT.

  1. Reflections on possibilities on implementing some of the webinar input on a practical level (practical application of learning):

The knowledge gained from the visit has profound implications for our academic and professional journeys. Mr. Yalung's emphasis on continuous learning and a growth mindset has inspired us to be proactive in seeking out opportunities for skill development. The importance of internships, as stressed by Mr. Madalipay, has encouraged us to actively pursue real-world experiences that align with our career goals.

Understanding the company's structure and values has given us a practical understanding of what it takes to succeed in the industry. The visit has fueled our determination to be lifelong learners and to approach our careers with an innovative and adaptable mindset.

  1. Positive feedback (on the event organization):
The event was well-organized, and the warm welcome from Ms. Dacanay set a positive tone for the entire visit. The structured tour of the satellite office and the engaging discussions with company representatives created a conducive environment for learning. The visit to iFiTech added another layer to our understanding of the industry, and the interactive sessions facilitated meaningful connections with industry professionals.

  1. Suggestions for improvements to be made/consider for future activities:
While the overall experience was enriching, incorporating more interactive elements such as Q&A sessions or small-group discussions could enhance engagement further. Additionally, providing a brief overview of the companies beforehand could better prepare students for the visit, ensuring they have specific questions tailored to each organization.

In future activities, having a mix of theoretical discussions and hands-on experiences would cater to diverse learning preferences. Also, facilitating more opportunities for direct interaction with employees in various roles could offer a more comprehensive understanding of the industry.

In conclusion, our visit to iPhiTech has been a pivotal experience that has sparked enthusiasm and ambition among Gordon College students. Armed with newfound knowledge, insights, and inspiration, we are poised to embrace the challenges and possibilities of the dynamic IT industry. The visit has not only shaped our understanding but has also ignited a passion to contribute to the innovation and transformation within this exciting field.
