  1. Details of the event/activity:

The Philippine Society of Information Technology Educators (PSITE) – Central Luzon (Region III) hosted the annual International Research Conference on Information Technology Education (IRCITE) 2024 on March 8, 2024, at Wesleyan University-Philippines, Cabanatuan City. Our team, comprised of James Roward Paneza defending our research paper, along with myself, John Harvey Agrabio, and John Patrick Mata, attended the event.


  1. Reflections on the activity give rise to (learnings):


Although we did not secure a victory during the event, the experience of representing our research project to a diverse audience was invaluable. Witnessing James defend our work provided insights into effective communication and presentation skills, crucial for professional development in the field of Information Technology. 


The opportunity to engage with various professionals and enthusiasts throughout the day broadened our perspectives on contemporary IT trends and challenges. The speaker from AWS offered valuable insights into industry practices and technological advancements, enriching our understanding of cloud computing and its applications. Despite not winning, the event served as a platform for learning, networking, and showcasing our dedication to innovation and research in Information Technology.





  1. Reflections on possibilities on implementing some of the webinar input on a practical level (practical application of learning):


The conference presentations and discussions inspired us to delve deeper into our research interests and explore potential avenues for practical application. The insights gained from industry professionals and fellow researchers highlighted the importance of staying updated with emerging technologies and trends.


 Moving forward, we aim to incorporate the knowledge acquired from IRCITE 2024 into our academic and professional endeavors. Whether through refining our research methodologies or exploring new collaboration opportunities, we are committed to leveraging our experiences to drive meaningful change in the field of Information Technology.







  1. Positive feedback (on the event organization):


IRCITE 2024 was impeccably organized, offering a platform for researchers and practitioners to exchange ideas and insights. The diverse range of topics covered throughout the day catered to the interests and expertise of attendees, fostering a collaborative and enriching environment. 


The presence of esteemed speakers and industry professionals, such as the representative from AWS, added credibility and depth to the conference. The networking opportunities provided a chance to connect with like-minded individuals and establish valuable contacts within the IT community.



  1. Suggestions for improvements to be made/consider for future activities:

For future iterations of IRCITE, incorporating more interactive sessions, such as workshops or roundtable discussions, could further enhance participant engagement and knowledge exchange. Additionally, providing clearer guidelines and criteria for research paper submissions might help streamline the evaluation process and ensure fairness in judging.


In conclusion, our participation in IRCITE 2024 was a rewarding experience that reaffirmed our commitment to academic excellence and professional growth in Information Technology. We extend our gratitude to PSITE – Central Luzon for organizing such a meaningful event and look forward to contributing further to the advancement of IT education and research in the future.

Database Developer - SQL Server/T-SQL/Database Migration

Event Title: “ Database Developer - SQL Server/T-SQL/Database Migration ” I. Details of the event/activity I started May 29 and finished May 30, 2024, I completed an online course on Udemy about database migration using Oracle SQL Developer. The course covered how to move a database from Microsoft SQL Server to Oracle. It included topics like setting up a migration repository, connecting to the old database, checking the current database state, converting the database to Oracle, translating SQL objects, creating scripts for the new database, and moving data to Oracle. I also learned the importance of checking the current state of the database before starting the migration process, this is to avoid affecting what's in the live database.
