Event Title: “ControlAltDefend-Introduction-to-CyberSecurity”
I. Details of the event/activity
On May 4, 2024, in Gordon College's Computer Laboratory, Room 519, we held a seminar titled "Ctrl+Alt+Defend: Lock it Down (An Introduction to Cybersecurity)." The seminar was led by Bernard James Ebuña, He is our speaker an IT student from Bataan Peninsula State University (BPSU), who shared valuable insights into the crucial field of cybersecurity. He is also a IT specialist in Cybersecurity.
II. Reflections on the webinar/activity give rise to (learnings):
As organizers and participants, we learned a lot from the seminar "Ctrl+Alt+Defend: Lock It Down (An Introduction to Cybersecurity)." Bernard James Ebuña explained the different types of cyber threats like malware, social engineering, and phishing. We realized how important it is to have strong cybersecurity measures to protect our personal and corporate data.
III. Reflections on possibilities on implementing some of the webinar input on a
practical level (practical application of learning)
We found this topic very interesting and plan to use what we learned to improve our digital security. We'll start by checking our digital footprints and making sure our sensitive information is encrypted and securely stored. We also plan to set up multi-factor authentication on our online accounts to prevent unauthorized access.
IV. Positive feedback (on the event organization)
We’re really proud of how the seminar turned out. Our team did a great job organizing everything, and Bernard's presentation was clear and engaging. The discussions were lively, and the whole event was a great learning experience for everyone involved.
V. Suggestions for improvements to be made/consider for future activities
For future events, we’d love to have more sessions like this. Adding more ice breakers and maybe some prizes for attendees could make the sessions even more fun and engaging. This version is more straightforward and reflects your dual role as organizers and learners in a light and approachable way.
